Sited atop a scenic ridge nestled on the edge of a mature forest in an established neighborhood, SWH composed a master plan that addressed circulation, created a sequencing of spaces, and stylistically unified the transitional architecture with the natural surrounding landscape.
In the front, layers of boxwood and hydrangea provide a lush foundation. Plantings of magnolia, deodar cedar, and arborvitae create a delightful backdrop while providing screening from neighbors. Behind the home, custom garden walls and gateways give a sense of enclosure to the series of garden rooms. A lovely gravel courtyard surrounds a hand carved French limestone fountain whose rippling waters can be heard throughout the garden.
