Boxwoods
Approaching the five-acre property with unfettered discretion, SWH sought to transform this suburban parcel into a legacy estate by imbuing the design with strong axial relationships, gradients in formality, and casual elegance. The landscape is an experience. It is a series of rooms to be discovered. Structured and formal near the architecture, the design loosens and ebbs organically the further one explores the property. The grounds simultaneously provide a setting for jovial garden parties and contemplative immersions in nature.
The estate incorporates a four-season planting, which is in constant and appropriate conversation with the architecture. Similar to the landscape, hardscape materials are appropriate to the site. Relying heavily on Pennsylvania Bluestone and Alabama Limestone, the site’s hardscape is edited to aid in the seamless transition between spaces.
Timelessly elegant, this estate will evolve and weather over generations, maturing into a legacy project that can be appreciated for years to come.
